Further to our incredibly popular blog post on the top 10 wedding venues in Edinburgh, we have now come west to write about the top 10 wedding venues in Glasgow,  the home to 2500 weddings every year.  That’s less than Edinburgh’s 2900.  I know, I was shocked too!

But anyway, which wedding venues in Glasgow were our favourites?

6. The Grand Central Hotel

Victorian buildings have been a running theme throughout this list, and if this is your style, and you’re looking for one in a central location, this is perfect for you!  Set just outside Glasgow Central Station and a 5-minute walk from the Gallery of Modern Art, this modern hotel is set in a landmark Victorian building.  Voted Glasgow & Clyde Regional Wedding Venue of the Year at the Scottish Hotel Awards 2013, The Grand Central Hotel provides the style and glamour a Glasgow wedding venue requires.

For a distinctive and genuine experience of Glasgow, this is the choice for you!  A very popular choice amongst born and bred Glaswegians.  The Old Fruitmarket is a venue with huge character with its lofty vaulted roof, listed cast iron columns, original signage and balcony.  Part of the City Halls complex, it is an incredibly versatile venue which can host all manner of events and weddings of all sizes.  Since this has been refurbished, this iconic venue has hosted many of the city’s key cultural events and celebrations.

4. Oran Mor

Situated in the Heart of the West End of Glasgow, Òran Mór is a unique venue, offering stunning facilities for a wedding ceremony or civil partnership ceremony.  Within the converted church, the Auditorium and Gallery are both ideal for ceremonies and the Private Dining Room can be used for more intimate wedding gatherings.  Beneath the celestial ceiling mural by Alasdair Gray, one of Scotland’s largest pieces of public art, guests can enjoy our fine Scottish food and impeccable service which has put us on the map as one of Glasgow’s leading venues.

3. Crossbasket Castle

Crossbasket Castle is Scotland’s newest hotel and probably the most exclusive wedding venue on the list!  This opened in May 2016 as a luxury hotel managed by Inverlochy Castle Management International (ICMI).  Crossbasket Castle has received a lot of attention from the media, appearing in a number of national and international newspapers since it will house celebrity chef Michel Roux Jr and his daughter Emily Roux.  This incredible venue must be seen to be fully appreciated, it’s the result of a multi-million pound renovation of a historic building of great importance to its area. Boasting a very imposing facade, extraordinarily spacious suites, elegant interior design, beautiful grounds and Scotland’s only 4- storey honeymoon tower.  To make things even more special, Crossbasket Castle’s new medieval style ballroom, this has a dramatic viewing balcony high over the waterfalls and even can accommodate cars!

2. Boclair House Hotel

This stunning mansion is one of the most picturesque and perfect on our list, Boclair House is a beautiful Tudor mansion situated at the foot of Boclair hill.  The two storey listed building features a castellated tower and a series of arches to the front of the building which is reminiscent of romantic Italian cloisters.  When we were invited up to Boclair House Hotel for the open day launch, we thought it was nothing short of spectacular, from the imposing Grand Ballroom, to the beautiful gardens and the unique suites.  This is one of the most impressive wedding venues in not just Glasgow, but the whole of Scotland too!
