Julien MacDonald’s New £4Million Wedding Dress
We all know the importance of getting that beautiful, glamourous dress that will make you feel like a princess on the biggest day of your life. You may only ever wear it once so you want it special but also you don’t want to break the bank.
So what do you do? Forget all sense and sensibilities of course and buy yourself a £4 million wedding dress!!!
At the London Fashion Week yesterday Julien MacDonald released his new SS15 Collection featuring a £4 million wedding dress embroidered with real diamond and fresh water pearls.
Unveiling the gown on the catwalk at the Royal Opera House, the Welsh designer explained that a lovelorn mermaid – and Kim Kardashian! – were the inspirations behind his spring/summer 2015 collection.
He said that the £4 million wedding dress represented the mermaid turning buried treasure into her “dream ethereal wedding dress – diamonds, pearls, expense, lace, glamour.”
“It’s the most important day of a woman’s life and why not have the most expensive dress in the world?” he added, probably to the annoyance of most real life brides around the world.
And where does Kim Kardashian fit in to this?
“The bum is the new it thing,” the designer told a Welsh news channel. “It was boobs, but now it’s the bum, so if you have one – show it off! “It’s been enforced slightly by Kim Kardashian and this really is the year of the bottom.”
Model and television presenter Abbey Clancy praised the dress and crowned Julien MacDonald as “the king of sparkle”. “I absolutely loved the bridal stuff,” she said. “It was so pretty and gorgeous.”
More than 170 designers will be showcased during London Fashion Week, including Vivienne Westwood, Tom Ford and Paul Smith. The British Fashion Council estimates that the five-day event will attract more than 100 million pounds in orders.
