Planning A Wedding On A Budget

Planning A Wedding On A Budget

Of course your wedding day is a wonderful one – off occasion (we hope) so we all want our big day to be everything we ever dreamed of.  However, with everyone feeling the pinch in today’s economy, money just doesn’t seem to stretch far enough.  So it is important we budget our wedding wisely to ensure our big day doesn’t break the bank.  This doesn’t mean we cant have our dream wedding but it does mean we all need to prioritise and make savings where possible in order to get that dreamy Ian Stuart dress or those glamourous Kurt Geiger heels.

However, if you do find yourselves going over budget, don’t worry! In fact, join the club!  According to research conducted by Hitched W.I.F.E., 47 % of brides and grooms in the UK went over budget last year, spending on average £15,652.  Here is a breakdown on what they spent it on: –

Engagement ring – £1611

Wedding rings – £718

Dress – £913

Shoes – £88 (couldn’t get any Kurt Geiger shoes for that!)

Headpiece – £55

Groomswear – £270

Bridal party – £382

Flowers – £392

You don’t want to be starting married life with a large burden of debt as it is hard to get out of and the pressure put onto your relationship can be strenuous to say the least.
